Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is one of the most widely used thermoplastics in the world. It is valued in both industry and advertising for its high chemical resistance, rigidity, mechanical strength and excellent electrical insulation properties. At Plexiplast, we supply PVC in the form of sheets, rods and profiles, which we can precisely cut to size or machine on our CNC machines according to your technical drawings.

Unsoftened polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U)

Unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), also known as Novodur.

Unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) is a rigid, hard plastic with high dimensional stability and exceptional resistance to chemicals (acids, alkalis and salts). It is the standard material for demanding industrial applications.

Basic properties:

  • Key features: High mechanical strength, zero water absorption, excellent weldability and bondability, temperature resistance from 0 °C to +60 °C.
  • Typical applications: Manufacture of chemical tanks, pipework systems, electroplating baths, structural components for the engineering industry, and electrical insulation boards.
  • Processing options: Precision CNC milling, cutting to the required dimensions, drilling, turning and welding of plastics.

Standard PVC for salein our stock are sheets of 2000mm x 1000mm in grey color.

Foamed PVC (lightweight PVC sheets)

Foamed PVC sheets are characterised by their extremely low weight whilst maintaining good strength and rigidity. They have a smooth, matt finish, which is ideal for further visual finishing.

Basic properties:

  • Key features: Low density (lightweight), easy to machine using standard tools, resistance to weathering and UV radiation, excellent print adhesion.
  • Typical uses: Advertising boards, signage, exhibition displays, photo mounting, interior design, building wayfinding systems.
  • Processing options: Digital and screen printing, direct varnishing, CNC contour cutting, edge milling, hot bending and custom cutting.
  • Colour: white, black

Plasticised PVC (PVC-P)

Plasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-P) contains additives (plasticisers) which give the material permanent elasticity and flexibility. It remains highly elastic even at low temperatures.

  • Key features: Excellent flexibility, damping properties (noise, temperature), high impact resistance, and resistance to wear and tear.
  • Typical applications: Thermal insulation strip curtains for warehouses and doors, protective curtains in workplaces, seals, gaskets, flexible machine covers.
  • Processing options: Precision cutting into strips or slats, die-cutting of specific shapes, custom formatting from rolls.
