Extruded acrylic is cheaper than cast acrylic. This is caused by ratio of human labor on raw material production. This cheaper price is diminished with lower surface quality and higher thermal vulnerability.

A-PET is an extruded thermoplastic polyethylene terephthalate (A-PET). It has similar properties as PET-G, such as high impact toughness and resistance to chemicals. The material can also be used in direct contact with food. A-PET materials are cheaper compared to PET-G materials.

Bond boards (also composite panels, aluminium sandwich or bond) are a composite material consisting of a polyethylene (PE) core covered on both sides with aluminium sheet of a certain thickness (depending on the manufacturer's brand, e.g. 0.3 mm, 0.21 mm). The surface of the aluminium sheets is further treated with high quality lacquers of various colours and shades, which allows the material to faithfully imitate different types of metals. However, the polyethylene core makes the material significantly lighter than metal parts, yet strong and durable.

Cold bending
Acrylic bending at long radiuses is kind of challenging but still possible. In this case entire material sheet is placed into furnace. Sheet is placed into mold and gets annealed for extended period of time. This ensures accuracy to the mold. Entire piece of acrylic is heat treated, not only specific zone.

The answer is not clear. Some yes, some no. Most shields cannot be polished, they are made of a different material (injection moulding material) than "regular" plexiglass, some shields are also made of polycarbonate containing styrene, which makes the plexiglass less polishable. the treatment of the shield. If an inappropriate cleaning agent containing alcohol has been used on the shield, polishing is almost impossible (the material becomes brittle when exposed to alcohol, the polishing the plastic often cracks).
The answer is not clear. Some can, some can not be polished. Most of the windshields can not be polished as they are made of different materials (injection press material) than “common“ acrylic. Some shields are made of polycarbonate containing styrene that makes the shields more difficult to polish. Great influence on future polishing quality results have your care and maintenance. If inappropriate cleaning solution containing alcohol is used polishing is virtually impossible as alcohol causes material fragility and the shields often crack.
